Prosafe bags long-term offshore accommodation contract with Statoil
Prosafe has secured a long-term contract with Statoil for its semi-submersible accommodation unit Safe Zephyrus

Statoil has awarded Prosafe a contract for the provision of the semi-submersible accommodation vessel Safe Zephyrus for Phase 1 of the Johan Sverdrup hook-up and commissioning project in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

The duration of the contract has yet to be confirmed but will involve one of three scenarios for nomination by Statoil in early August 2017: the first is a 12 month firm period from late in Q2 2018; or a 12 month firm period from late in Q3 2018 with four months of options; or five months firm from late Q2 2018 plus six months of options and four months firm from Q2 2019, plus 4 months of options.

The value of the firm period will be between US$51 M and US$53 M including fuel, mobilisation and demobilisation, depending on the scenario nominated.

Prosafe said the contract is particularly important to it because it will provide long term employment for Safe Zephyrus and generate firm cashflow in an otherwise soft market.
