Vietnamese gig for Solstad construction support vessel
Normand Baltic has been on charter to DSN Diving since October 2016

Solstad’s construction/diving support vessel Normand Baltic recently arrived in Vietnam in preparation for work on Rosneft’s Lan Tay field.

The dynamic positioning class 2 dive support unit is on charter with DCN Diving for work in the field, which is in Block 06-1 in the Nam Con Son Basin.

Normand Baltic will work in water depths of 125m to 190m, supporting saturation diving and work-class remotely operated vehicle duties, including wellhead EHFL replacement, riser work and spool piece metrology.

As broker Seabrokers explained, prior to commencing the assignment the vessel’s SAT II hyperbaric evacuation chamber was put through a fit and pressure test at the hyperbaric rescue facility in Vung Tau. The 96m vessel is fitted with a 100-tonne heave-compensated crane, and mobilised with a nine-man saturation diving system and a twin LARS air diving system.
